Today is the Second Sunday of Easter! This Sunday brings to a close the eight-day celebration of Easter Sunday and also calls to mind the great gift of the Lord’s Mercy. In fact, this Sunday additionally has the title of Divine Mercy Sunday. The Resurrection of the Lord from the dead not only happened in time but is also for all eternity. This is true of the blessings and graces that come to us from our Risen Lord, especially his divine mercy for each of us. So, we celebrate today like Easter Sunday and rejoice in the presence of the Risen Lord to us as real and as true as to the disciples who met him in the days following his glorious Resurrection.
Our celebration of the Sacred Paschal Triduum was a tremendous witness to our faith in the Risen Lord and a great service to our parishioners. I am so incredibly grateful to all of our liturgical ministers, Altar servers, parish staff, and volunteers who provided many hours of preparation and service to help to celebrate Easter in such an extraordinary way this Triduum. I am especially grateful to those who volunteered to clean the church very often!
Thank you so very much for your wonderful generosity to Saint Benedict with your Easter offerings, donations for the Easter Flowers, and to the 2021 Diocesan Annual Campaign.
